The National Workforce Diversity Pipeline Program student mentors are committed to providing excellent service to all students in the pipeline programs at Howard University and beyond. They are mission driven, action-oriented, and  dedicated to assisting students as they transition into becoming STEM and healthcare professionals. Our student mentors are passionate about the NWDP's vision of building pathways in developing a diverse STEM and healthcare workforce.

Mr. Dilbi Hussein

Ms. Alandra Brown-Cox

Ms. Alandra Brown-Cox is a resident of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She currently attends Bowie State University and is expected to graduate in May 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology. At Bowie State University, she is an Office Assistant in the Department of Natural Sciences. She is also an active member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, The Minority Association of Pre Medical Students (MAPS), and the Student Government Association. Upon graduation she plans to gain admission to the MD/MBA Dual Degree Program at Howard University College of Medicine.


Ms. Kerina Ochieng

Ms. Kerina Ochieng was raised in Silver Spring, MD and attends the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP). She is pursuing a Bachelor's of Science degree in Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics with a concentration in Pre-Medicine, and expects to graduate May 2018. At the UMCP, she is a part of University's Gemstone Honors Program, where they focus on undergraduate interdisciplinary research. She is also a mentor for GEMS (Girls Excelling in Math and Science), an organization which ignites the interest for young girls pursuing a future STEM career.... READ MORE

Mr. Corey Jefferson

Mr. Corey Jefferson is a transfer junior biology/pre-med major from Williamstown, New Jersey currently attending Howard University. Previously he attended Montclair State University where he was an active member of; The Brotherhood—a group focused primarily in the progression and excellence of minority men, as well as, the Chemistry and Biology clubs. At Howard University, he is a member of the Red Cross club, as well as, the New Jersey club.  He plans to obtain a position in student government and logging community service for the underprivileged and misrepresented in the FY 2016-2017.... Mr. Jonathan Murphy

Mr. Jonathan Murphy is currently a System Administrator at Howard University and former Director of Technology for the Psi Tau Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, Professional Business Fraternity. Jonathan earned a degree in Computer Engineering from Howard University in 2012. Upon graduation, he returned to his home state of Connecticut and worked at Hewlett Packard, where he provided technical support and training for HP products across multiple stores.... READ MORE
