André Farquharson, DDS

Dr. André Farquharson graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C.  Then he entered a General Practice Residency(GPR) at Harlem Hospital Center in New York, N.Y., and completed a Fellowship in Infectious Disease at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in The Bronx, N.Y. Dr. Farquharson then  specialized in Oral, Head and Neck Pathology at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He taught Oral, Head and Neck Pathology at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee and was Director of General Practice Residency Program.

Dr. Farquharson returned to his alma mater to teach in the Division of Oral Diagnosis and Radiology and soon became a pioneer in professional development. Dr. Andre Farquharson is an Associate Professor who is always eager to find more effective ways to reach his students and to help his colleagues. He is ready to apply innovation that seems likely to enhance teaching, learning, or assessment in the field of dentistry.  Dr. Farquharson supported the development and training of ExamSoft at the College of Dentistry and College of Pharmacy.

He was the Dental Director for the National Minority AIDS Education Training Center and Clinic Coordinator for Ryan White Care Act HIV/AIDS patients at  Howard University. Dr. Farquharson does research and has grants in the area of HIV/AIDS to manage viral load suppression. He is an Oral, Head and Neck Pathologist and infectious Disease specialist. Dr. Farquharson is a Fellow in the Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Diplomate in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. He is a member of the DC For AIDS Research(DCFAR), American Dental Education Association and National Dental Association, past Chair of Education, Research and Professional Development Committee at NDA.  He has lectured nationally and internationally and has many publications.
